If you're experiencing issues, we're happy to conduct a free house inspection to determine your best repair method.

How We Can Help

If you're experiencing vibrations in your home as trucks drive past, or you've noticed uneven flooring, doors not shutting like they used to, this is a likely result of a foundation issue. It might be a simple adjustment of jacking and packing or epoxy crack repairs, but we'll need to start the investigation with a house inspection from one of our qualified Christchurch builders. Wrightway is a known specialist and one of the few remaining Christchurch foundation repair companies that works closely with EQC.

Foundation Releveling

If foundation releveling is required, it's a relatively simple process, but you will have to vacate your home for a number of weeks. There are two ways to relevel the foundation. The first is underpinning, and the second is over pinning. Internal floors can be releveled by jacking and packing of piles, but this relates only to timber floors. A concrete slab should be releveled by underpinning or mechanical lifting. As part of this process, we need to engage engineering designs drawn and council consents before we can commence work. Wrightway can help you with the entire process, and this can take 4-8 weeks.

Jacking & Packing of Piles

If you notice a bouncing floor, one of the reasons for this could be that the pile or bearer connection isn't present, and the piles may need to be jacked, packed and reconnected. This is a very simple process to level the internal floors of your home. In the majority of cases, you won't have to vacate your home, and the process takes up to 2 weeks in Canterbury.

Epoxy - Concrete Slab Crack Repairs

As one of the leading Christchurch foundation repair companies, we address concrete slab crack issues through the impregnation of low viscosity epoxy based injection resin called MC Injeckt 1264 Compact. We carry out this work by cutting an approximate 10mm x 10mm chase directly into the top of the crack creating a reservoir for the epoxy to work its way down via capillary action. It may take up to three fills to ensure the cracks are filled. This process can take 3-4 weeks.

Repiling

If required, you may also need to vacate your home or the area where repiling is required. Repiling is a simple process where a structural engineer would design a pile detail. Depending on the extent of work, we may need council consent, or if it's a minor requirement, a Licensed building practitioner (LBP) can legally sign it off. Repiling doesn't always require the house to be lifted. A partial repile means we can isolate the area and replace them internally. This process can take from 2-8 weeks, depending on the scale of the job.

Foundation Replacement

For foundation replacement, we may need to lift the house, or it can be replaced in place, depending on the type of foundation and engineering design. Usually, if it's a TC3 foundation, the house will need to be lifted or moved on-site to allow for the foundation replacement. If you're replacing the ring foundation only, then the house can be propped in place and replace the perimeter ring as required. This process can take 4- 8 weeks.

Epoxy - Ring Foundation Repair Christchurch

Ring foundation cracks are addressed through the injection of low viscosity epoxy based injection, which is many times stronger than concrete. We carry out this work by drilling directly into the crack or at a 45-degree angle to intersect the cracks halfway through the thickness of the foundation. We seal both sides of the crack then inject MC-Injeckt 1264 Compact into the cracks via aluminium injection packers to fill the cracks in their entirety. This process can take 1-2 weeks.
